We use this stuff all the time to install alarm system devices. We had been using the 3M clear gooey tape which was great but very difficult to remove the red backing. This RP45 is the best - extremely secure after a few minutes, so if you make an initial placement mistake you can remove it (quickly) and reposition it.Its a very thin foam with easy to peel backing.My only complaint is...it's wider than the 1" stated...it's more like 1 1/8" so we have to trim it a little, but not that big a deal.Very good adherence, but A lot of preparation, from sanding, cleaning and spraying adhesion several times. These are all required for it to workThis is incredibly strong tape. I used this to tape the awning track to our RV. I think I could attach a rope to the track and pull the RV over before this tape would come off. I have used it to attach a number of items where I would normally have used screws. Its that strong folks. I would not have believed it it I had not done it myself.Great product, strong dependable hold.I use it to stick LED strips onto wood. The adhesive that come with most LED strips won't stick well to most surfaces.It's pretty expensive for tape, but it's the strongest tape I every used. It's strength is comparable using a nail to attach something. So far, it stuck to everything I tried except rubber.This stuff is amazing. Easy to use. I have had an outside doorbell button on a motorhome for over a year and it is still attached. The oem double sticky tape loosened up after about 3 months.Used to mount a handheld showerhead holder on uneven stone. Have had no issues with holder coming off from wall.Its a great product. 3m has always been the best. But the seller miss advertised. It was not a 5 yard piece. Came up 2 feet short.I ordered this and, yes, I stupidly mis-read that it was just 45mills wide (I thought it meant 45 mm). I was confident in ordering it because the photo shows tape of at least 45 mm wide. After I returned the product (for which I did get a refund) I reported the photo as mis-leading. Having just checked it again and found that they haven't bothered correcting the photo, here's my one star review. You can't leave that photo on this product. If you do, this review stays at one star, if you correct it, I'll update the review.
